We will be undertaking beach renourishment of the Safety Bay and Waikiki Foreshore over the next four weeks. Beach renourishment works are scheduled to commence on Monday 17 October and will take approximately four weeks, with completion by mid-November Beach renourishment involves importing clean beach sand to increase the vertical height and to widen the existing beach profile, increasing its resilience to erosion from winter storm activity. The works will be completed by transporting 17, cubic metres of clean beach sand from the Point Peron sand stockpile by trucks and depositing the sand on the beach via the Donald Drive boat ramp, Safety Bay. The sand will be mechanically screened at Point Peron prior to being delivered to site.
