I went for the beer battered cod goujons, fresh lemon and tartare sauce for starter, the peppermill billingham. The Peppermill Bistro is a family-run independent bistro located on Station Road in Billingham which opened its doors in John, the owner, and chef, grew up in Billingham and has worked in various different hotels, restaurants, and pubs, including 20 years, most of these as Head Chef, at the well-established Norton Hall. Together they have created a welcoming bistro that is passionate about creating a dining experience that lasts long in the memory and will leave you coming back for more. Conscious about supporting other local businesses, they use local produce as much as possible, with suppliers in Billingham, Middlesbrough, Sedgefield, and Whitby. This results in the freshest ingredients possible and allows The Peppermill Bistro to create wonderful seasonal menus, along with specials that change weekly depending on what local produce is available.
