While little is known about what they or their goals are, the Collector is depicted as a childish and mischievous being, which they show with their playful interactions with Belos. They partake in theatrics for their entertainment, speaking riddles and rhymes, although they have been shown to quickly give up on harder words out of impatience. Despite their childlike attitude, the Collector has proven to be cruel and heartless, as shown during Eda's dream when they hunt down the Owl Beast in an effort to capture it, showing no mercy whatsoever and even laughing at their victim's fate. Furthermore, they have shown to hold twisted delight about the catastrophic events the Day of Unity will unfold. The Collector is a former antagonist of The Owl House , acting as the secondary antagonist of the second season and one of two central antagonists of the third season. A mysterious, god-like entity known as a " collector ", he [note 1] was originally trapped inside the In Between Realm where he spent centuries awaiting his release. When assistance arrived in the form of Emperor Belos , the Collector helped the emperor with the Day of Unity in exchange for his freedom. Once the event proceeded as planned, Belos went back on his word and abandoned the Collector in his prison, only to be freed from it later by King. Upon his release, the Collector defeated Belos, and took over the Boiling Isles , turning it into his personal playground, with King as his bound companion. During his takeover, the Collector resided in the Archive House with King, together partaking in a game with the transformed citizens acting out the adventures of King's life. After Luz helps him understand his wrongdoings, he helps protect the citizens during Belos' attack and helps bring the Boiling Isles back to usual, including reversing the effects of the Puppet Spell on citizens of the Boiling Isles. He chooses to return to his home among the stars for introspection, occasionally returning to the Isles to visit his new friends. The Collector is a short humanoid being with child-like features. He has tan-yellow skin, bushy white hair and eyebrows, an upward-pointing nose, and a large pale blue blotch that eclipses the left side of his face, giving the right side the appearance of a crescent moon shape. The Collector's eyes are yellow and have narrow pupils with scarlet irises. His left leg also appears to be pale blue. When the Collector plays his games with King, Eda, and Luz, he briefly takes the form of a Pac-Man-like creature with a rounded head and a wide, toothy maw. In this form, he still wears a nightcap over his hair.

To emphasize this, while he thinks Luz and the others might be playmates, the collector owl house, they offer to let them get a head start for the gameindicating that Belos was the focus of some understandable ire. From instantly annihilating Belos, to moving the Moon with their finger , and reshaping the entire Boiling Isles in their own image , they can do essentially anything. Youthful Freckles : The Collector's true form is shown to have freckles on their left cheek. Cheerful Child : After being freed, the Collector is a perpetually smiling and jovial entity who enjoys essentially turning the Boiling Isles into his personal playpen. And then after his Heel—Face Turn , he thought Belos was probably just like him—lonely inside and needing kindness and forgiveness. He captures Eda , and stores her in a room guarded by puppets, under the impression that she's in Owl Beast form and can't change back, despite this not being the case. With a temperamental nature and great power at his fingertips, the Collector is a dangerous and unpredictable force that will not hesitate to punish those who upset him and terrify others into obeying his demands. King obliges, and the Collector is satisfied and goes to sleep. In their true form, they turn out to be, physically speaking, a young child whose Lack of Empathy stems from being too immature to understand consequences. Rhymes on a Dime : Played With — his initial appearance had him speaking that way, but after he stumbles on a rhyme for "Unity" he drops the entire thing, indicating it was just that day's fun du jour. He straight-up splatters Belos against the wall for not freeing him and gets angry at King when he thinks he's not going to keep his promise of games. Their friendliness with King is absolutely genuine, seeing him as a playmate even as their powers literally begin to rip apart the Boiling Isles, and this friendliness extended to Belos prior to his betrayal. Evil Laugh : He lets one loose when ensnaring the Owl Beast, though "For the Future" reveals that this wasn't actually him. After this, while at the Hexside Grudgby field, the Collector sees students hiding behind the bleachers and tries to befriend them, but they run away in fear. Season 3 took a shorter turn than most hoped just three episodes for Season 3? Humor, action, darkness but eventually, the cast finds the light.

He's not interested in harming people for its own sake, but he's perfectly willing to force them to act as his playmates or audience up to turning them into People Puppets so they can't resist. Though "Hollow Mind" implies they're at least physically and a bit mentally a child so the voice makes sense. Given that we learn in "For the Future" that the Collector is merely one of a species of Collectors, many of the actions we don't definitively know they did could have been done by others of their species, though some are still unclear.
