Setelah kurang lebih 7 bulan menjadi siswi pelatihan trainee , Shinta Naomi bersama 17 orang anggota generasi 2 lainnya dipromosikan menjadi anggota tim KIII. Pengumuman ini disampaikan saat akhir pertunjukan teater "Matahari Milikku" pada 25 Juni Ia menjabat sebagai kapten selama 2 tahun. Selama menjadi kapten, Naomi bersama timnya berhasil menjawab tantangan untuk mengadakan konser tunggal dengan minimal penonton dalam rangka perayaan ulang tahun pertama Tim KIII.
