Tablescape Tiles - Deadzone, Diplay Board 4. Tablescape Tiles - Forgotten City
A Kickstarter being late is no news, and Secret Weapon have been very open with the backers. Backers had a special deal to buy more tiles before they went live and this is what I ordered plus the Secret Weapon Pigments. And I wish I had pledged for more sets. The big ones are used to connect 4 tiles, while the half-connectors are for the edges. The Deadzone display board contains 4 copies of the same tile with a damaged sci-fi urban look. It also has some extra plastic pieces to frame it.

The 24 one foot square tiles make up a six foot by four foot gaming table, perfect for playing Kings of War. The tiles can be set up in many different ways, giving a lot of flexibility in the design of your gaming table. Take a look at these close ups:. There are eight unique tile designs, but it was easy to add static grass in different locations in the multiples of a tile to make each one look different to the others. The tiles are held together by a clever compression clip system which is very good. The tiles in the first photo above are just laid side by side and are not clipped together. The gaps between the tiles are less prominent when the clips are being used. More on these in my next post. Today we have the terrain that I managed to get completed in January. None of the usual sort of thing — instead I managed to start and finish 18 of my Secret Weapon Tablescapes tiles, from that Kickstarter campaign oh so long ago. I was fortunate enough this past January so that the whole Crosis Protocol enthusiasm thing was enough to help me to get these shown tiles done from start to finish. I know that there are people out there who can paint a set of tiles like this in an afternoon. Here you can see a theoretical Marvel Crisis Protcol battle in action. Hopefully sooner than later!
From time to time we get some terrain commissions which I thoroughly enjoy doing as it is a different way of painting compared to painting miniatures and it also gives me an excuse to get some time with the airbrush. Well for this commission I got a whole heap of time with the Airbrush. There were two sets of Urban City 32 1ft x 1ft tiles , one set of Forgotten City 16 tiles and one set of Rolling fields 16 tiles. These sets were designed with a Warhammer 40k shrine world feel in mind. The rolling fields tiles were to have a barren polluted wasteland effect.

By Maisey February 12, Back in the glorious summer of I set about a little personal project to create a North Africa themed collection of models and scenery. Well I've finished the British and Australian section of the project and now ready to get started on the board. I had several options when it comes to creating the actual board it's self. Firstly I could try and lay my hands on one of the good old Realm of Battle boards from Games Workshop. They were great boards, if a little on the pricey side. We have successfully created a desert board from these before by sculpting mud cracks over the skull pits. This gave the board a dry feel and was pretty simple to do.

Thanks Mark! We are your portal to all things gaming View the Gaming Hall. Wish I could get my hands on a set, the boards I made for MCP are a bit restrictive and I could do with the variation these offer. May have flaws such as tears, pen marks or highlighting, large creases, stains, marks, etc. Share this: Facebook Reddit Twitter. And I wish I had pledged for more sets.
