A brand-new course aimed at those wanting to get to grips with the potters wheel! Suitable for total beginners or those that have already attended a class and want to improve quickly. We have a small and intimate studio environment, so you will all have plenty of advice and tips from our pottery tutors. Walk away with a set of glazed mugs and bowls! Spend an evening with clay, making a pair of unique candlestick holders. Using traditional hand-building techniques, we'll be exploring texture and form, with a few options for fancy handles The perfect gift, or prop for a cosy night in with Cluedo. Your candlesticks will be glazed and fired, ready for collection 3 weeks post workshop date. Join artist Wendy Roby for a day of creativity where you'll learn a raft of expressive screen printing techniques you can replicate at home. Limited availability. A new course designed for those with some prior experience on the potter's wheel!

We offer a variety of wellbeing programmes to support the specific needs of adults and young people experiencing mental health issues such as low mood, depression, anxiety, isolation and other challenges. Join us to create, connect and feel better!

We'll be using decoration methods to allow you each to walk away with a stunning set. The tiles will be made with wild clay dug from various places that are connected with the town, celebrating the connectivity and transportation offerings. Please complete our short survey here. Prerequisites - Ability to comfortably centre and throw basic forms. All aboard the spinning wheel - a quick fire course around all the necessary tools and materials - with an array of tips and tricks to get you making as soon as possible! This is a drop-in event at the Merseyway Workshop, so feel free to swing by and make a tile anytime between 10am - 2pm. All the good ones! Join Josie Roberts in the clay studio and learn all about making mugs! Suitable for absolute beginners or those in need of a refresher. This project is supported by the Stockport Town of Culture Fund. Have you ever fancied having a go at pottery? She is co-ordinator of the Northern Potters SW region. This project is supported by the Stockport Town of Culture Fund. During the workshop you'll learn some basic woodworking techniques, find your way around a selection of hand tools and much more Perfect for encouraging insects, creepy crawlies and pollinators to your garden! Design a piece by shaping your blank, adding texture and creating functional details for candles and nibbles! Please complete our short survey here. Join us in this crafty, kid friendly workshop and create your very own wooden bug hotel. All work will be ready for collection 2 weeks after the event date. John Slade is a local potter with 25 years' experience. This drop-in event is taking place in the covered mall at the Merseyway Shopping Centre.
