We recommend Torque Pro. A properly running engine is essentially the precise timing of gasoline-fueled explosions. Depending on engine speed RPM and load the engine control unit ECU controls the timing and amount of fuel injection, timing of spark ignition, and in the case of engines with variable valve timing VVT , intake- and exhaust-valve timing adjustments. If there are two banks on a VVT-equipped engine, then there will be two camshaft position sensors. The camshaft position sensor reacts to a toothed wheel on the camshaft, which gives the ECU constant information on its speed and position. Sensor A indicates that the malfunction is occurring with the camshaft position sensor circuit that pertains to the intake camshaft.

Anyone else seen this and have ideas how to fix this one??? If you are in a similar situation, you have two options. After looking more closely, I found that the one wire that appeared to have pulled out of the connector, did not actually pull out, but in fact broke off of the terminal lead. Thank you for this article. In my case, one of the wires had broken off of the connector that plugs into the camshaft position sensor. Using some helping hands to hold this connection up, I then used my soldering iron to solder this connection together. It may be a good idea to turn on the car to ensure the car still turns on and runs properly. JavaScript is disabled. Author Scott Lam Hi there! Before you continue, take a picture of the orientation of the colored wires of the camshaft position sensor harness so that you know how to arrange them during re-installation. One is to simply repair the single wire and the other is to replace the whole connector with a new one that includes three wires already attached to it. My goal is to provide helpful articles and tutorials based on my experience and research related to car maintenance and automotive detailing.
