Naruto senju
Naruto's Senju Clan is known to be one of the strongest ninja clans in the entire story.
Although the clan itself no longer appears to exist as a group, the Senju continue to influence Konoha's politics through their philosophy of the Will of Fire and the corresponding interpretation of the role of the Hokage position. As such, three Senju have achieved the position of Hokage. It was thought that the Senju's strength was based in love. The Senju are distant relatives of the Uzumaki clan , and for that reason the two clans remained close allies throughout the years. More distantly, the Senju are also related to the Uchiha clan , who descend from Hagoromo's elder son, Indra.

Out of the many powerful bloodlines that the Naruto series features, two clans have stood out throughout its run — the Uchiha and the Senju. From the times of the Warring States period to the formation of the Hidden Leaf Village, the Senju and Uchiha have been the two most prominent clans dominating the battlefields, with none that could compare to the incomparable strength of these all-powerful factions. Throughout history, the two clans have rivaled each other in terms of both strength and numbers. However, the Senju Clan and its descendants are nowhere to be seen in the current time of the Naruto series, while the Uchiha Clan and its numbers had been preserved till the Uchiha massacre took place. Tsunade is the only Senju descendant in the entire village, with no trace of the rest of the clan. Piecing together details from the series can shed some light on the matter, revealing the reason behind the odd disappearance of a once-thriving clan. With the Senju bearing such an influential presence among the Hidden Leaf and its political landscape, it's rather odd that no prominent member of the clan has ever been revealed in the present set time of the series. Tsunade is the only Senju descendant in the series, and even her last name was never revealed, meaning it could potentially be any other clan since her grandmother was an Uzumaki. It makes no sense for such a titular clan to completely vanish from the scenes, especially compared to the high number of Uchiha present until their untimely demise. This explanation makes perfect sense considering the Senju had always been open to marrying outside of their own clan, evident from the marriage between Hashirama Senju and Mito Uzumaki. Clans such as the Uchiha and the Hyuga had always been against interbreeding, primarily due to the reverence of their respective Dojutsu, the Sharingan and the Byakugan.

The ninja clans in Naruto are a major part of its story. Almost every important character in the series comes from one prominent clan or another. Among the most critical clans is the Senju clan. They are the direct descendants of the Sage of Six Paths, who spread chakra throughout the world. They were one of the strongest clans during the Warring States Period, and co-founded the Hidden Leaf Village, alongside the Uchiha clan.
Throughout his lifetime, Tobirama would work tirelessly to achieve political stability and implement the institutions that made the village system work, thus ensuring Konoha's continuity and prosperity. Tobirama was born during the Warring States Period , and was the second of Butsuma Senju 's four sons. He and his brothers grew up on the battlefield waging constant war with their rivalling clans especially the Uchiha. After the deaths of their brothers: Kawarama and later Itama , Tobirama and his older brother, Hashirama , decided a new shinobi system would need to be implemented to end the cycle of child deaths — a system that would require an alliance between the warring clans. From tracking Hashirama, Tobirama discovered that he was meeting with a boy named Madara : a young Uchiha.

Telling his new acquaintance that he needed to put more feeling into his attempts, Hashirama introduced himself to the young man as his rival in skipping stones and noted that at this point in time, he was leading. Soon after, while attending the burial of their brother Kawarama alongside his younger brothers Tobirama and Itama, Hashirama got into an altercation with their father over what he considered to be the pointless death of Kawarama. That moment convinced Hashirama, with Tobirama's support, that there must be peace amongst ninja. He would later discuss this concept with Madara when he met him on the riverbank once again after the death of Itama. It was on one of these occasions that Hashirama shared his dream to create a new village in the very spot where they stood which would serve as a safe place for people to live and children to grow up to become strong shinobi. A place where shinobi would be assigned missions based on their skill set and not simply out of necessity for forces on a battlefield. Butsuma would later discover that Hashirama was meeting with Madara, having sent Tobirama to trail his elder brother. Telling Hashirama that Madara was an Uchiha who had killed several of the Senju's strongest members, he ordered his son to use the meetings to spy on Madara and if needs be, to kill him.

Several aspects of the Naruto series have incongruities similar to this, though it's certainly odd that there is no prior mention of such a major element of the series, giving way to such a glaring inconsistency. The Warring States Period backstory certainly cemented the notion of Senju superiority, though it was too late as part 1 of the series had no mention of the Senju Clan.
