MyAnimeList , often abbreviated as MAL , is an anime and manga social networking and social cataloging application website run by volunteers. The site provides its users with a list-like system to organize and score anime and manga. The site was launched in November by Garrett Gyssler and maintained solely by him until On August 4, , CraveOnline , a men's entertainment and lifestyle site owned by AtomicOnline, purchased MyAnimeList for an undisclosed sum of money. MyAnimeList announced in April that they had embedded episodes from Crunchyroll and Hulu directly onto the site, with over 20, episodes being made available on the site. On March 8, , MyAnimeList opened an online manga store, in partnership with Kodansha Comics and Viz Media , allowing users to purchase manga digitally from the website.

While it is helpful to have a dedicated list that branches across multiple streaming platforms for programming, I have one key issue I want to address for the people at MAL. No dedicated write review option, and apparently there is supposed to be one under the review option. I find this same issue applies to the manga section as well. Understandably there are many suggestions, complaints, etc. Marketing the app better would be a suggestion too, considering I only heard of it through its initial release when the release post on the forums was on the front page.
