In response to a dare, Mona, Charley, Lily, and Fang venture out on a night-time mission. Mona and Charley must face down Von Kreepsula on his own turf - within the comic book realm - if they have any hope of beating the vampire king. He's inside day and night, he's always late for class, and he has suddenly adopted a permanent, glassy expression. As more and more kids in town fall under the strange spell, Mona discovers that the game possesses a virus capable of infecting hard drives - no, not computer hard drives, BRAINS!
