As previously reported, National Highways had announced a full weekend closure of M3 London-bound between junctions 4a and 3 beginning from Friday, February 9, until Monday, February However, this has now been lifted, and the contractors will continue with the ongoing closure between 9pm and 6am each day. Now that the full closure has been lifted, normal traffic flow is expected to resume during the daytime, providing relief for commuters traveling from Basingstoke to London and surrounding areas. Following inspections earlier in the year, National Highways identified a series of maintenance issues on this section of the M3. The maintenance project includes the installation of an upgraded barrier, resurfacing, renewal of road markings, and removal of traffic management measures along the specified section of the M3. Drivers heading northbound on the M3 have been warned to expect delays due to emergency repairs to a bridge. Two lanes of three are closed to fix a joint on a bridge between junction 12 for Eastleigh and junction 11 for Winchester.
