Ikea sinks
One bowl or two?
I am planning to install an Ikea kitchen. Designed the kitchen and as part of it, I selected a kitchen sink and tap from Ikea, and is planning to get integrated appliances from outside Ikea. I have been reading about installation and found online suggestions stating, the water trap is a pain and always leaks. On top the taps are non-standard size, and I won't be able to install normal taps from other shops on Ikea sinks. Does anyone have experience installing these? As part of the design, we have drawers under the sink, and is wondering if I go for sinks and traps from outside, will it interfere with the drawers.

You have two options when it comes to installing a kitchen sink: drop-in or under-mounted. As the name implies, a drop-in sink is placed in a hole in the counter, with the lip of the sink resting on the countertop. An under-mounted sink allows for a seamless transition from counter to sink bowl, as the sink is mounted on the underside of the countertop. It offers a sleek, modern look, but installation can be more expensive. It also should be used with a countertop made of a solid material like quartz as opposed to butcher block or laminate because the edge of the counter needs to be waterproof. I'm thinking of getting this sink, as its small, but nice enough looking. Its also only 50x70cm, so we'll have more worktop space in our kitchen - which'll be at a premium! There isn't a tap hole on this, but I'm hoping you could drill one. Does anyone have an Ikea sink? And would you recommend them?
