The Chrysler drove away traveling east on Fulton Avenue and then hit a Kia, a Honda and a Toyota, after not stopping for a red traffic signal at the intersection of Fulton Avenue and Main Street, according to police. After hitting those vehicles, the Chrysler ignited in flames that fully engulfed the car. The Hempstead Fire Department extinguished the fire. The person driving the Chrysler was identified as Anthony Diomede, 34, of Levittown, and the passenger was James Ryder, 25, of Farmingdale. Both were pronounved dead at the scene. The four people in the Toyota, two women 44 and 23, a girl 8 and a boy 6 were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries, police said. All the people in the other cars declined medical attention at the scene.
