First of all I checked on the current regulations for flying these things in Spain.

They say was the Year of the Vegan. They know these things. I went vegan in January and was soon pontificating about my amazing new life to anyone who'd listen and many who wouldn't. Come December, our first holiday as vegans was upon us. Spain is not famed for veganism and we were expecting a week of nibbling avocados in our hotel room no bad thing.

So, when I was approached by the Spanish Tourist Office to write a blog post on the hidden gems of Fuerteventura I was pretty excited! One of the most important things about Fuerteventura is just how good the food is! We start in the Northern town of Villaverde, in the shadow of the mountain Escanfraga. Beside it is the restaurant Escanfraga guess where they got that name from?! For the price of a starter down in Corralejo, you can get a hefty main course of Canarian goodness. I would recommend the calamari whole-heartedly! Another gem is just m away, namely Mi Dulce Hogar. This bakery is run by a local lady and her English husband and their produce is the stuff of legend in the area. The sandwiches are huge and sell for around a Euro. As well as this, they have some incredible cakes and pastries for a similar price. A top recommendation here is their custard donut which, although some may frown upon the filling, is equally as legendary as the bakery! This island loves majorero cheese so much that they even dedicated an entire museum to it in the town of Antigua. These guys do the best pizza on the island, hands-down, and all for a great price. A weird alternative to pizza is their take on a Nutella pizza; it sounds weird but it is pretty good for a side dish to share after your main!

Did you know that I also vlog my travel adventures?

I often hear people disregard the Canary Islands as a holiday destination for hiking or enjoying the beauty and calmness of untouched nature. However, most of the islands have so much more to offer, beyond hotel blocks and cheap fast food. Fuerteventura is located in the Atlantic Ocean. Mostly due to its mild and steady climate, Fuerteventura is also referred to as the island of eternal spring. From beautiful beaches to breathtaking views from various craters and hilltops. Most people know Fuerteventura either as a hot spot for surfing or as a relatively cheap all-inklusive-hotel-package destination. Which, I guess, are the two things that most people come for.

Useful hands-on tips and methods to properly store backpacking and outdoor gear at home. We're all comfortable hugging strangers, yeah? I just smudged it with my jumper. I guess these establishments are used to vegans, but these vegans are not used to these establishments - what a treasure trove for our first vegan holiday! Jack has seen sharks, stingrays, octopus and barracuda here often and a friend of his even saw some fin whales off the shore! Another thing you could do is visit a festival. If you are feeling a bit more adventurous I would suggest exploring some of the caves on the island. If you have any questions about the destination please do get in touch in the comments below. The road here is quite scary however as it is very mountainous with few barriers on the side… If you are feeling a bit more adventurous I would suggest exploring some of the caves on the island. In any case, the ascend is SO worth it. But once you reach the highest point that perception quickly changes. Of course, being an island, Fuerteventura has plenty of beautiful beaches - of them to be specific. If you ever travel to Fuerteventura, I would definitely recommend venturing out into the wild and exploring the nature and hiking routes of the island. Hope not because i am not with her anymore cost me a and I sold the villa.

Corralejo is probably the most popular resort in Fuerteventura and it's situated in the very north of the island, being a part of the municipality of La Oliva.

So, when I was approached by the Spanish Tourist Office to write a blog post on the hidden gems of Fuerteventura I was pretty excited! As I peered into the display of salads and cakes with eyes like Roger Rabbit when he sees Jessica, the owner asked if I was vegan. But Fuerteventura has so much more to offer. They say was the Year of the Vegan. Try doing it after four years in the Caribbean. Should be great for hiking. If you enjoyed this post, please share it with your family and friends! Both have a very different feel to them, but both are incredibly beautiful. One on the west side of the island, close to El Cotillo.
