Finding the right fit takes time. After looking at many locations, Amanda Cockburn , founder of Freewheeling Craft, an organization bringing new and established artisans together, finally found a dream space to connect Ottawa artists. A long time in the making, but nonetheless worth the wait, 70B Beech officially opens this April. After falling into a bit of a virtual business rut over the past two years, it was a conversation with one of our favourite local makers in June that re-activated my creative spark. I really attribute it to her to get me out of that rut and dreaming about in-person again. Awaiting aspiring entrepreneurs at 70B Beech is a turnkey, flexible, warm home. Pop-ups, markets, gatherings, photoshoots, meetings, and artists will have everything they need to connect with the When people rent the space I want it to be easy. Your next big thing could happen at any moment.

How delicious were they? I hear there was some amazing doughnuts at a "doughnut pop-up" hosted recently. I got just enough to host a sold out market- all day shoppers were coming up to me saying how amazing it was! Were any of those partners instrumental in the launch and success of Freewheeling Craft? When did you first come up with the idea of Freewheeling Craft and how long after that did you open? I get stopped on the street by spouses of makers to chat. I follow a lot of craft market communities from across the country, and Ottawa was behind those cities about 5 years in how long these markets had been running and also how established the maker brands were. We also gift box. Don't forget mother's day is also just around the corner. Guest User.

Lol Is there something that is missing from Freewheeling Craft that you think would sell really well? We also have our jewelry selection, natural skincare, art and home goods, diy kits. I usually shop last minute. Never miss an update! We missed it! How many craft makers and partners do you have? I have incredible cement planters coming in from Toronto, potentially some beautiful leather from Montreal, some goods from Tofino and the west coast. I follow a lot of craft market communities from across the country, and Ottawa was behind those cities about 5 years in how long these markets had been running and also how established the maker brands were. When you aren't hosting workshops and selling amazing Canadian made goods, what do you do for fun? I look outside of the Ottawa maker community for products that no one here is making yet.
