The Jacksonville Jaguars have been enjoying a brilliant season but the fans are generating as many headlines as the players. Throughout their season, fans have been heard chanting 'Duval' as a way to support their team. Blake Bortles famously misunderstood the saying by thinking fans were booing him in when he was drafted by the Jaguars. Jags supporters regularly chant 'Duval' during the franchise's game to recognize the county that makes up the majority of Jacksonville. The Jaguars started playing in although the chant didn't carry over to football until years later having first been heard on the airwaves. The saying soon caught the imagination of musicians with visitors understanding that the phrase was a substitute for Jacksonville. So we're traveling throughout Florida, so when you would say Duval they knew exactly where you were from. The chant has increased in popularity in recent years, with draft picks and free agents told on how to say it and the meaning behind it. I think that makes it kind of cool, too. US Edition.
