Each morning we would get up and head straight to the bar in order to indulge in the ice cold desserts coupled with a piping hot fresh coffee. This is essentially shaved ice flavoured with various natural flavours and served in an ice cream sundae dish. Other staples on the menu include strawberry, chocolate, coffee, strawberry, peach, and raspberry.

Well, what can we say else about the Bam Bar that you got to go there when in Taormina and try one of their ever so delicous granitas! The Bam Bar is a cute small cafe-bar in the historical centre of Taormina, just some steps off the famous Corso Umberto and the right place to sit down, relax and refresh yourself after a twon stroll. Of course you could also order a cold drink, but the best refreshment here is a granita with whipped cream under and on top of the ice cream and a brioche. Our favourites are definitely the strawberry and the pistachio granita, but judge for yourself. Bam Bar is open all days in July and August, the other months closed on Mondays. Lovely decorated granita cafe. Despite granita being a Catanian speciality, widely acknowledged even by locals to have outstanding granita. Granita is a Sicilian breakfast dish eaten with a warm brioche to prevent brain freeze you are supposed to have one bite of each as you finish them , and Bam Bar has huge brioches at a set price hit a granita combo. You can also ask them to put a dollop of granita in your coffee instead of milk. Service is prompt if not friendliest. Once you finish, lose some calories by having a walk around the corner to admire one of the prettiest streets in Taormina. Choose a granite flavour, with or without cream, and get some brioche on the side for 4. Sooooo delicious! It was a Staff speak English and are friendly, you may have to wait a little while for a table but it is worth it!

If you opt for flavours such as coffee or almond, then you can also opt for a dollop of super sweet fresh cream to be added onto your dish. For an extra fee, I highly recommend ordering the freshly baked large as your head brioche buns.
