Her mother, Atit Deng, said her daughter didn't understand the danger of oncoming traffic and had run onto the road several times before. A nine-year-old girl has lost her life after being hit by a car in Melbourne's south-west in what police describe as a traumatic scene considering the "age and vulnerability" of the victim. The incident occurred just after 9pm in the suburb of Werribee where it is believed a car hit a nine-year-old girl who had been walking along Shaws Road. First responders were called to the site of collision and attempted to resuscitate the girl through emergency intervention, along with the assistance of civilians who were in the area at the time, but the efforts were unsuccessful.
