Welcome, Guest. Please login or register. Home Help Login Register Donate. Author Topic: Z1 information Z1 photos Read times. A fellow here has a pretty rough Z1, I think a by the engine number Z1E The motor is supposedly fresh with. The package comes with 2 complete motors, two carb sets, two tanks, one of which is excellent. The frame is sound, the rest is rough and there may be some missing parts such as stock exhaust. It has dual disks. Any thoughts? I think 2k is high but I could be wrong. Judging by the condition this one would cost a lot more than my K3 to make right. The reason I post this here is that this forum seems much more helpful, the Z1 information on line seems limited, which is troubling.
All two and four stroke classic Japanese bikes are welcome! To promote the Kawasaki "Z" series motorcycle.
Many of the Z1OC club members own models that were originally sold in the UK - some grizzled old timers even originally bought them. There are however a fair number of nationalized US imports, mainly as a result of the infamous "Great US Zed Drain" of the early 's although this has now pretty much stopped as the Japanese are trying to get them all back for themselves. While some own prized show-winning examples, indistinguishable from or better than those first shown to a gobsmacked public in the UK by Agrati at the '72 Earls Court show, others take a more pragmatic approach and will modify, grind, cut off or improve anything that can be modified, ground, cut off or improved; while still retaining that certain mystique that denotes "Zedness". The mission statement of this club is that these bikes were built to be and should be used. The forum is a resource for Zedheads of all shapes and sizes to share technical help and tall tales, to buy, sell and find parts and bikes, and to keep up to date with Zed meetings and other meaningless nonsense. We extend a welcome to all fans of the mighty 'Z' series worldwide. All we ask is that you treat the place with a bit of respect, and treat other users as you'd like to be treated.
When joining or renewing via the forum , the process is fully automated which saves us time and means that your membership details will be updated instantly. If you use the form on this page, updating your membership details is a manual process and that's time we'd rather be spending with our Z's :- Thanks. The Club now has a membership of around worldwide, all with a common interest in the legendary Z1 and it's descendants. The Club originally covered all models of the Z1, Z and Z up to and including the Z1-R, but in recent years this has been extended to anyone with an interest in Big Zeds - first generation big bore air-cooled Kawasaki fours which were originally twin shock. Also included are the Z2 which isn't over but is clearly a sleeved down Zed, so is eligible, and the GPZ B1 and B2, a bit of a cross-over for Kawasaki but undoubtedly more like Zeds than anything else so they fall within our remit. Once they went monoshock it really was the start of something new. What else counts as a Zed? Well, eligibility can be with either engine or chassis, so that takes in those with Kawasaki Zed engined Rickmans, Harris, Egli, Moto Martin or even Z framed bikes, and also Gixer engined Zeds and the like. Whether you're interested in concours bikes and restoration, streetfighters and specials, drag racers or classic racers, if it's Zed based you'll find a friendly ear here. Benefits of joining the Z1 Owners Club You don't, currently, have to be a member of the Z1 Owners Club to make use of the public parts of the Club forum but if you find it useful, helpful or interesting then joining the Club is the 'right thing to do' - it's only the cost of a tank of fuel or a round down the pub after all and your membership contributions keep the whole thing on the road.
