Netflix has recently broken the infamous live action anime adaptation curse. The protagonist, Shinichi, somehow becomes bonded to one of the parasitic beings without losing his own autonomy. Whereas the Netflix live action One Piece was an American production and the live action Yu Yu Hakusho was a Japanese production, this adaptation, entitled Parasyte: the Grey , will be a Korean production. The series streams worldwide April 5th and in a rare move for Netflix — which is famous for releasing entire seasons on release date — they will release episodes weekly until June. Unlike the previous Netflix live action anime adaptations, this series will be a much more dramatic reimagining with a different set of characters than the original. Actress Jeon So-nee will play protagonist Jeong Su-in. This series will also feature an organization not in the original series called The Grey, which hunts down Parastyes.
