Yavuz Gallery focuses on contemporary art, predominantly from the Asian region. Ames Yavuz has grown from its roots in Singapore and Australia to become an international gallery dedicated to nurturing leading contemporary artists from around the world. Founded as Yavuz Gallery in Singapore in by Can Yavuz, the gallery expanded to Sydney in , becoming the first commercial art gallery from Asia to establish a permanent space in Australia. Ames and Yavuz share a vision to nurture and elevate artists who spark dialogue and effect change through contemporary art. Ames Yavuz embraces its diverse background through a strong international perspective. Its focus is underpinned by robust curatorial, commercial and institutional practices that foster intercultural discourse on a global scale. Representing a diverse array of established and emerging artists from around the world, Ames Yavuz aims to challenge, inspire, and reclaim through art. The gallery is committed to celebrating diversity and promoting social significance by spotlighting the pressing issues of our times.

Yavuz gallery

Working in painting and drawing, Trybala centres her work on the complexity and dynamics of human relationships, drawing inspiration from personal experiences, relationships and conversations with friends and family. Her figurative practice maintains an astute dialogue with art history, questioning how feminine bodies have been represented, its tropes, and how these bodies occupy physical space in the art canon and the world. Working with an application of texture and colour that can be hot and grubby or sometimes saccharine sweet, Trybala renders her figures within a lens of intimacy and tenderness to create powerful paintings to explore ongoing notions of nurture, care and desire. Her figures are expressed on the canvas through recurring articulations of the body: soft and slouching, limbs slung across the frame, their closeness edging claustrophobic. Colour itself plays a psychological role, becoming a character in the interwoven narratives of each hue. The emotional temperature of the paintings is guided by varying hues and a limited colour palette, giving each one greater force for its singular presence. They reach for an environment to relate to and rely on. A blooming moon, suspended low, adorns the night sky. These figures are of their world, defined equally by its steadfastness as by its changeability. She has been exhibiting regularly since with exhibitions held in Melbourne, Sydney, Geelong, Perth, as well as internationally in Singapore, France and Italy.
