Now in question number eight were asked, which of the following is the graph 2 of this equation, right? And the equation that they give us is Y 3 minus five X is equal to negative six. If you're ever trying to take an equation and turn 7 it into a graph you want to use Y intercept form, 8 which is Y equals MX plus B. Now, 14 if I'm trying to take that minus five X and move it from left 15 to, right, that means I need to add five X to both sides, 16 because that will allow the Xs to cancel on my left, 17 leaving me with just Y and then I'll have a plus five X, 18 which I can just write, um, is five X minus six. So our slope is 21 a positive number. It's a positive five. And our Y intercept is negative six.

Me getting more info from the 9 year old comment than from the video:. And the telltale sign of that, when you're doing it algebraically, y 5x, is you get something wacky like this.

This is an inconsistent result. Sarah Richer. Posted 11 years ago. The Y intercept is at negative six, 24 but we have a negative slope, right? Put both equations in slope y-intercept form If both have the same slope and different y-intercept then these lines are parallel and the system has no solution. So negative 5x plus 8 is equal to negative 2. So the second equation over here is 10x plus 2. It's right over there. So let me just graph these just to make it clear. About About this video Transcript. Robin Friend. To extend this concept, can you solve a linear system of equations with 3 unknowns? That's our x-axis.

Once you find x, you will need to substitute back into one of the equations to find y as well. And then it has a very steep downward slope. So it looks something like this. It's not consistent for 16 to be equal to negative 2. And our Y intercept is negative six. We need a positive slope. Show preview Show formatting options Post answer. Luzlil Villalobos.
