Xs vs xt strings
XS strings? User Name Remember Me? D'addario XT vs. Have any of you compared the two? Which do you prefer and why? I use the phosphor bronze strings and want the same or similar sound as the EXPs. I have a set of XS strings to try on my next string change and am looking forward to it because the XS strings seem to be the EXP replacement. But they are kind of pricey.
But I have no issue with acidic body chemistry, my strings are dying of "mechanical" wear.

Several guitar string brands are on the market today. This can make it difficult to pick which strings to buy. Even after finding a brand, you have to keep up with the names of their products, which are hard to distinguish. But how do you ascertain the difference between their string series, like the XT and XS series? Is there an actual distinction?

User Name Remember Me? D'addario XT vs XS strings? XS are coated whereas XT are treated. XS last a long time as well and i can typically easily get months out of a set for my taste with moderately frequent playing time. XTs are uncoated and might sound a little better, but the coating on the XS is so thin one might not notice the difference other than the feel. Personally I'm a big fan of the XS. Maybe even kinda like Ernie Ball Paradigms. The XS last a long time.

Martin's first treated strings were called Lifespan and they used a process by Cleartone another company for this line. Not like the EXPs do. I forgot the difference. What I found is that after a much shorter play-in time, the strings settled into the tone of PB strings that have been well played in.
