Rogue , for the most part, brings a very useful set of tools to parties and raid groups alike and are desirable for almost all content throughout the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. Combat brings an excellent kit for burst damage and AoE, as well as the Savage Combat debuff, which increases the Physical damage taken by any enemy you have poisoned. For Alliance players, the choice of race comes down entirely to the utility of Humans and Gnomes, with Will to Survive and Escape Artist. If you wish to choose based on an absolutely minimal DPS increase, you could choose Night Elf, but the different is only in their base stats when compared to other races, and the difference is truly tiny. Horde is where the difference between races shines slightly more for Combat Rogue , with Troll and Orc pulling ahead. Unlike with Assassination , Troll does not remain the best choice throughout the entirety of Wrath Classic, as Orc pulls ahead very slightly upon reaching Icecrown gear levels. Engineering grants the most damage-increasing benefits of any profession for Rogue and should definitely be taken as one of your choices.

Blade Twisting —In addition to causing your attacks to occasionally Daze your targets, Blade Twisting now boosts up Sinister Strike damage as well. Best Races. Improved Eviscerate is a medium-importance talent that will mostly help your damage dealt on trash mobs and during Blade Flurry.

Combat Rogue s have 2 builds available to them: one focuses on single-target damage, with potential for AoE, while the other functions as a potential Hybrid build for the dual talent specialization feature that arrives with Wrath Classic. Improved Kick gives a short silence effect to your Kick ability which is pretty useful in a few niche situations, but normally not important. For longer duration fights, Rupture is usually the go-to damaging finisher and Eviscerate is not used as much. With enough enemies around you, spamming Fan of Knives with the Focused Attacks talent will simply keep you constantly topped up with Energy to keep spamming it. Dual Wield Specialization is an exceptional talent that increases the damage dealt by your off hand auto attacks. Sleight of Hand. You will want to be sure to have a very fast off hand weapon 1. For the most part, the choice of race for Combat Rogue depends entirely on the faction you choose, as for Alliance players, it makes little to no difference for PvE. Vigor allows for some more powerful opening move sequences in PvP which makes it pretty good. Improved Poisons. The two are nearly on par with one another and you can choose which to use based on your preferences and the economy of your server for gold-making. Riposte is a great talent to have if you are doing a lot of solo grinding or leveling. It has very limited usage in PvE and may only find use in the occasional dungeon group. These changes make poisons incredibly strong. In PvE this will amount to just a little extra energy on each pull - but that adds up across many combat engagements. Best Professions. Blade Twisting provides a nice boost to Sinister Strike damage as well as a slowing effect. Surprise Attacks is a pretty valuable talent for a single point, but not terribly exciting. Improved Eviscerate. As a Combat rogue you will be using Rupture quite a bit, so this is a decent place to put these talents and the other options are much much less desirable.
