This is the best known part of the Cairngorms National Park, including the modern resort of Aviemore, and it is one of the most popular areas of Scotland for outdoor activities. Cairn Gorm itself is only the northernmost high summit on a vast, arctic plateau. This is the snowiest part of Britain; a fragile environment but providing a magnificent wild challenge for the fittest. The lower slopes are clothed with the magnificent Caledonian pinewoods of Rothiemurchus, dotted with jewel-like lochs such as Loch Morlich - with its sandy beach - and Loch an Eilein with its ruined island castle. Undoubtably this is one of the finest areas of Scotland for easier, lower level forest walks. The wildlife-watching opportunities too are simply superlative; this is the stronghold of the Red Squirrel as well as the elusive Capercaillie, crested tits and Scottish crossbill. We have separate sections to cover walks in the Grantown, Nethy Bridge and Boat of Garten area to the east which includes Abernethy Forest , and the Newtonmore and Kingussie area to the west.

Rum until recently known by the Victorianised spelling of Rhum is the largest of the Small Isles. The island is magnificently wild and rugged, dominated by the towering mountains of the Rum Cuillin - a miniature version of the Cuillin of Skye. The ridge traverse of the Rum Cuillin is one of the classic Scottish hill days, with plenty of scrambling though the peaks are less technical than the Cuillin of Skye. The island was owned and run for many years as a private hunting reserve by the Bulloughs - wealthy Lancashire industrialists - with no access permitted to the public. A community buyout means the area around Kinloch Village is now owned by locals with the remaining land owned by Scottish Natural Heritage. Walking can be dangerous and all walkers must take personal responsibility for their own safety. You should always carry a backup means of navigation and not rely on a single phone, app or map. The new Loch Lomond National Park has ensured protection for what is not only Britain's largest freshwater lake, but one of its most beautiful, celebrated in ballad and song. West of Loch Lomond are the steep Arrochar Alps towering above Loch Long together with scores of much less visited lower hills stretching down to the seaboard. To the east is the Trossachs - a delightful landscape of forests, lochs and hills that has long been known as Scotland in miniature.

What necessary phrase... super, remarkable idea
In my opinion you are mistaken. I can defend the position.
