As shoppers made last-minute Christmas purchases at one of Canada's biggest shopping malls Saturday, police made a disturbing discovery at the bottom of a pool in the plaza. Divers pulled the body of a young man from a lagoon inside the West Edmonton Mall just before noon local time. Known as the Deep Sea Adventure lake, it is about five metres deep and surrounded by a glass and metal railing. The body, first spotted by a distraught shopper, was found near a replica of the Santa Maria sailing ship. That part of the mall also features an underwater submarine ride and a self-contained tank where dolphins perform. Abandoned for seven years at the bottom of an Edmonton water body, four submarines are finally being retrieved.
