The following story has been corrected. The gym's memberships were purchased by VASA Fitness, a gym with more than 45 locations around the country, including a gym near the corner of Creasy Lane and South Street in Lafayette in a former Marsh Supermarket building. Monday was the last operational day for Club NewTone, which is located on the corner of Sagamore Parkway and Union Street and has been open in Lafayette since For Erin Charters, a group fit instructor at Club NewTone, the gym was more than just a space to exercise. Charters met her husband, Kyle Charters, through the club and has been instructing her classes there for the last 13 years. It was so much more than just a gym or a fitness place, but a place where I found my gym family. What made it so special was the people.
