The VMR is intended to be an event for women to learn about long-distance motorcycle rallies. There are no requirements to participate, other than doing the event on a motorcycle trikes, spyders, etc welcome. If you're an IBA member, you won't have a problem completing this. The Honda Valkyrie is a motorcycle that was manufactured by Honda from to Back in the 90's there was a resurgence of interest [2] in cruiser motorcycles , that generally feature a V-twin engine. The idea of an American cruiser styled motorcycle featuring a flat six engine came from Josef Boyd. The Valkyrie engine is a 1, cubic centimetres 93 cu in liquid-cooled , horizontally opposed flat-six engine shared with Honda's Gold Wing 4th generation model, unlike the V-twin engine commonly found on "cruiser" style motorcycles. In its transplant from the Goldwing , the most notable engine changes were the camshaft and the change to six individual 28 mm carburetors , one for each cylinder, changes which increased power and torque. The Valkyrie was offered with a reverse gear in Japan. On introduction in , a naked Standard and later, a Tourer model were offered. The Tourer included a windshield and lockable hard saddlebags. It was designated as a GLCT. In , the Interstate model was added to the lineup, which included a fork-mounted fairing along with a larger capacity fuel tank with 26 Liters 6. Honda offered optional CB radio and fog lights mounted inside of the radiator pods. It was designated as a GLCF. As sales eventually dwindled, the Interstate and Tourer models were dropped after , leaving only the Standard model remaining. Honda introduced a limited edition model in named the Valkyrie Rune with a 1,cubic-centimetre It was a major departure from the original Valkyrie in styling and purpose.

The Honda Valkyrie FC6 is one of those traffic-stopping motorcycles that non-bikers are simply fascinated by. Basically a stripped down Honda GL Gold Wing , with lower gearing and six carbs, the Honda F6C Valkyrie is actually reasonably good fun to ride and some might say it's best made motorcycle in America. The Honda Rune looks like some kind of Dan Dare spacecraft - mental. Here, the Honda F6C Valkyrie surprises many riders. So long as there's plenty of advance planning, the motorcycle can be made to go around a corner fairly fast for a cruiser and still offers a luxurious ride on motorways. The Honda Rune is more ponderous, but then you'd want to travel slowly so people could stare for longer.

The Valkyrie provided a smooth and effortless ride with its five-speed manual transmission and shaft drive. It featured a stylish, streamlined design with a low seat height and wide handlebars for a comfortable and upright riding position. It also packed a range of features that enhanced its comfort and convenience, such as a stereo audio system, heated grips, a large, adjustable windscreen for greater comfort, leather saddlebags, and wind deflectors. The bike's twin-spar frame was constructed from lightweight multi-box aluminum parts, contributing to its low center of gravity. The engine was used as a stressed chassis member and optimized for all-around handling prowess. The ten-spoke cast aluminum wheels were fitted with two mm discs and hydraulic calipers on the front, while the rear packed a mm disc engaged by a hydraulic caliper for strong stopping power. The bike's suspension was handled by a 45 mm telescopic fork with an anti-dive system on the front end. At the same time, it packed a single-sided swingarm that added to its unique style and an electronically controlled Pro-Link shock absorber on the rear.
