The Uzumaki clan is one of the very strongest clans to ever exist in the world of Naruto, uzumaki clan. Originally hailing from the land of Eddies, the Uzumaki clan is a unique bunch known to specialize in Sealing Jutsu. They are also known to have incredibly huge chakra reserves, thanks to their connections to those of uzumaki clan Senju.

The Uzumaki Clan is one of the most intriguing clans in Naruto. Originally, the clan resided in Uzushiogakure, a country that was eventually destroyed by its neighbors out of fear. After the incident, most Uzumaki Clan members moved to Konohagakure, where most remain today. Members of the Uzumaki clan are descendants of Asura Otsutsuki and thus share ties with the Senju clan. The Clan was massacred and only a few members survived — many took refuge in other villages, and eventually, fans were introduced to the few remaining Uzumaki Clan members. Karin was introduced to the fans as one of Orochimaru's subordinates who later went on to join Sasuke Uchiha on his endeavors.

They were distant blood relatives of the Senju clan and as such, both were on good terms; an alliance that extended onto their hidden villages — Konohagakure and Uzushiogakure. The Senju and Uzumaki clans are distant blood relatives whom they retained strong connections with. For this reason, Konoha-nin uniforms have the symbol of Uzushiogakure emblazoned on its shoulders. Along with their ties, structures were built both in, and around the village such as the Uzumaki Clan's Mask Storage Temple. After receiving a prophecy, he planned and followed through with the restoration of the destroyed land. Despite the fall of Uzushiogakure and decline of the clan, it never quite went extinct as most of its known members have since resided in Konohagakure. The clan itself was recognised as active again 15 years after the Fourth Shinobi World War. At some point after Kushina Uzumaki immigrated to Konoha, Uzushiogakure was targeted and destroyed, some believing the village was too powerful to be allowed to continue. In the anime, he and his clan met with Hashirama and the Senju clan in order to deal with a gigantic beast which was on the loose. Ashina was an elderly man, who had long, white hair, moustache, and a squared-off goatee. He also wore armour reminiscent of the period of dress. Under this, he wore a long-sleeved, black outfit, the shoulders of which bore the crest of Uzushiogakure , which were later incorporated into uniform of the Konoha shinobi. On his back, were what appears to be the curved handles of two swords, which in the anime, were shown to be bandaged up. He also wore a forehead protector with his village's symbol etched into it.

Red hair was a common trait among the members of the Uzumaki clan.
