This posting hires for all locations full-time Aircraft Maintenance Technician positions. Perform aircraft maintenance on UPS fleet to meet or exceed airworthiness standards. Performs the change, removal, replacement or upgrade of aircraft components to correct failures or implement changes. Conducts troubleshooting of complex pneumatic, hydraulic, engine, and structural components and systems. Documents procedures per established processes to ensure regulatory compliance. Project Titan — the city's ongoing economic development project to add three new hangars to the ST Engineering aircraft, maintenance and repair facility at the Pensacola International Airport — is projected to create 1, new jobs at the complex. Now, industry leaders are implementing strategies for how to attract talented professionals to the city to fill those positions. On Thursday, representatives of ST Engineering and UPS signed a contract to launch a joint Pensacola-based program to provide employment, advancement opportunities and advanced training to mechanics who would live and work in Pensacola while completing the three-year program. The Aircraft Maintenance Pathways Training Program is expected to begin this year with its first 30 students, according to Lim. To be eligible for the program, a person already must be an FAA-certified aviation maintenance technician and hold an Airframe and Powerplant Certificate. That means the students will have already completed an month program at an FAA-accredited school. They will be looking for recent graduates who could be considered top candidates to fill the ranks of the new Pensacola-based training program. ST Engineering has a separate contract with UPS to perform maintenance on the shipping company's planes. Mechanics who are accepted into the training program will be hired as full-time employees by ST Engineering and work in its aircraft maintenance facilities at the Pensacola airport, receiving advanced training on servicing the UPS planes for three years. At the end of three years, if they successfully complete the program and are in good standing with a good attitude and with the required skill set and so on, then they have a chance to interview with UPS," Lim said.
