Less than 6 months ago I wrote a review of the Epic XT 2, ultraspire. I was stoked to see that ultraspire update to the pack was being released ultraspire February ofand got my name on the list to be among the first shipment. Even better, I received my new Epic XT 3.

Staring at my pile of hydration packs for running often makes me feel a little like Goldilocks. Some are too small, others are too big, too heavy, or too bouncy. After months of hydration pack testing, the UltrAspire Alpha 5. Light enough for quick jaunts with expandable storage for longer days, this pack is a versatile option that fits the bill for all but the longest of trail days. For the runner looking for a simple hydration vest that will assist in adding some mileage to your long run, this vest might seem a little loco. But we like loco. There are just some quirks we noticed that are worth noting. The length and shape of the Bryce XT will not be compatible for everyone, as the pack is narrow between the shoulder blades but widens as it extends down the pack.
