I'm currently a rising high school senior who wants to get into IBlooking for advice for my ED choice. I think I can handle UChicago's workload since I'll be doing the business econ track, uchicago vs columbia, and during HS I've completed some of the relevant math coureses. Don't go to Cambridge unless you want to work in London. There is other stuff more important than raw placement in Finance, and UChicago probably places better per capita considering the tiny amount of kids who want to actually pursue a career in traditional finance from there. Cambridge isn't worth considering here unless you're dying to be in London. Jesus, I'm starting to think you're pulling my leg if you say that. Chicago is a great school, but going to school for your finance ops is fucking retarded Chicago has a horrible culture, grade deflation , and a shitty social scene, which are not conducive to finance recruiting. Outside of HW, all finance opportunities are available across all the schools you mentioned except maybe Stern? I cannot emphasize how important it is to consider the school environment.

I'm interested in getting an IBD job or working in finance like everyone else, and possibly going to business school. Columbia has more opportunities for NY , Chicago for Chicago. That's perhaps obvious advice, but despite the intellectual parity of the schools the recruitment opportunities are very different. I'm a Columbia alum, feel free to PM me with specific questions. Both schools are prestigious and difficult to get into, but the undergrad programs at these schools arent typically viewed as big feeders into Wall Street. B school is a different story as both schools are big targets for MBA recruiting. Columbia is a more "prestigious" undergrad in my opinion, but doesn't have much of a campus experience. Neither are your traditional college experience obviously but they are close enough that you should base your decision on fit. Basically all business schools other than Harvard and Stanford are garbage.
