However, Hayley was resurrected by Hope's blood and she went with Klaus to retrieve her baby with the help of Klaus' half-brother Elijah Mikaelson. They managed to rescue Hope, but then Klaus and Hayley decided to give her away to Klaus' half-sister Rebekah Mikaelson to protect her from the people that are trying to kill her. They decided that once New Orleans was safe, Hope would return home to Hayley and Klaus; this was Klaus' promise to her. However, when Hayley decides to leave New Orleans with Hope and her pack, following her new husband's advice, Klaus found them and cursed the Crescent Wolf Pack , including Hayley, and took back Hope. Over the next six months, Hope remains under the protection of Klaus, while Hayley is only able to see Hope once a month on a full moon. With her curse put on temporary hold in You Hung the Moon , Hayley is finally able to fully reunite with Hope and take custody of her from Klaus. Hayley now lives in an apartment across from the compound , within range of Klaus' protection and in his eyesight, with Hope and Jackson.

He then orders the vampires to kill the werewolves in the bayou, as he can't make hybrids if there aren't any werewolves. Klaus is weak as the newly improved werewolves were feeding on his power as the full moon was up. In The Battle of New Orleans , Klaus and Hayley both have to deal with the problems that Marcel and his vampire army are making for them. Hayley seems a bit hurt that he doesn't want to help her right away and she tells him that he shouldn't worry since Elijah is with her, which was a fib since she was alone. Soon after, they find her pack and she gets nervous about talking to them, but Klaus gives her some confidence and tells her to talk to them. Hayley stops talking and looks at him intensely. This made Hayley fight him back, claiming that she and her daughter aren't dead because, if they were, Mikael wouldn't be trying to kill them. But he is stopped by Elijah and Genevieve who helped them , who tells Klaus that it will kill Hayley. Klaus then smiles but Elijah walks in and tells Hayley that she will not kill Esther much to her annoyance. Klaus smiles at her. Genevieve starts bleeding out of her eyes as the ancestors are coming for her since she failed them. He asks her her how their "littlest wolf" is doing. They succeded and brought him home where he was reunited with Hope.
