This is the truck belongs to Val in Tremors and Earl in Tremors 2. Earl owns the truck and uses it on his ostrich ranch. He and Grady drive it to Mexico after being hired to hunt Graboids that were terrorizing an oil field there. While there it was outfitted with a seismo monitor and they used it in their hunt for the Graboids. When a Graboid jumped out of the ground right in front of them Earl put the truck in reverse to try to get away but ran it into a ditch and broke the axle and had to call for help.

Instead of unleashing a devastating plague upon the entire earth, it focuses on the attack of a one-street town with 17 residents, where the two main characters are attempting to leave for a better life. Amusingly, the film idea came to co-writer S. Wilson while working in the Mojave Desert on a gunnery range, climbing over giant boulders in the sand.
