The people who avail of our adoption process gain a sense of wellbeing and fulfilment through the daily care and companionship which this relationship generates. The provision of a valuable resource for members of the public who may be experiencing worry, distress, frustration or hardship in relation to an animal, either their own or an animal which they have come across in an abandoned or injured state. These benefits are readily evidenced when relief is expressed by the person who has discovered an animal which requires assistance and The Barn is able to provide practical help or advice in the situation. We have more newsletters. Volunteers have come together in a project to transform an animal rescue centre in Co Down. Locals and those from further afield have been working hard at The Barn Animal Rescue in Newtownards. Work is underway to clear an overgrown field into a play area for the animals so they can enjoy the outdoors as much as possible. The charity helps rescue cruelly treated or abandoned animals and helps re-home them to their forever families. Joanne Ford founded The Barn along with her husband Glenn as they were always keen animal lovers who campaigned for animal welfare and rights. She told Belfast Live: "We are doing a little area for the goats too and want a dog area with little bits of agility for them to play on. We don't like to keep them inside all day.
