RDCB - Foundations of Reading Hours: 3 This course is designed for graduate students in the emergency permit or alternative certification program seeking initial teacher certification. The focus is on the reading process and the factors that condition its development, tamu courses. The importance of reading in school and in life serves as a background for critical evaluation of the methods and materials of reading tamu courses.

This course will be a mini art school squeezed into an hour a week. We will have regular weekly homework assignments, and use most of class time to critique constructively. I will use my experience from my own art school days to give an impression of what it was like. We will have assignments that are based on real art school assignments that I had. Mediums will include drawing, sculpture, painting, jewelry making, and digital art, photography and short film. In this course we will adapt the Hullabaloo infrastructure to enrich learning within the engineering context.
