The Motown legend is a dad to two sons and one daughter. Smokey Robinson takes pride and joy in his three children. News of Robinson fathering a child out of wedlock led to the end of his year marriage with Rogers. Robinson shared that his then-wife experienced seven miscarriages before they welcomed their son via a surrogate. Motown founder Berry Gordy gave Claudette the official title of the " First Lady of Motown ", as noted in his autobiography, because, as a member of The Miracles, Motown's first group and first recording act, she was the first female artist ever signed to a Motown-affiliated record label Tamla. Several years ago, Claudette began writing her autobiography, A Miraculous Life , a book of her memoirs, and of her life with The Miracles.

Smokey worked as an in-house producer and songwriter, while also singing lead alongside Claudette in their 5-member group, The Miracles. The two were married for 27 years and although they had some great times together, they also went through some very trying times during their marriage. But fortunately, despite the tragedies, she was able to give birth to two children. Most of their fans will probably be surprised to see their son though, because for the longest time, many never knew Smokey and Claudette even had a son. But, they also have a son they named after the famous Motown pioneer.
