Stellaris planetary ascension
Stellaris players may be tempted to dive headfirst into exploring and expanding across the galaxy at whim, but they'll quickly learn that it's important to look inward and make sure their Empires remain strong and united. Luckily for fans, the game's developers are still working on updates and expansions that allow for multiple playstyles to have a viable chance of winning. Known as 3. A recent dev diary describes Planetary Ascension Tiers, a new way of improving core worlds at the cost of Unity. Once an Empire has unlocked at least three Ascension Perks , players can upgrade each of their planets to Ascension Tier 1. This increases all of the effects of the planet's designation by 25 percent, whether it's dedicated to agriculture, commercial trading or a mighty fortress world. Each additional Ascension Perk increases the maximum Tier by 1, with an extra four unlocked after unlocking every Perk slot. Players can Ascend planets up to 10 times, for a maximum bonus of percent of the base Planetary Designation effects. However, the cost of Ascension increases with each planet, their tier level and overall Sprawl of an Empire. To drive how important Unity will become in future sessions, changes are also being made at the grassroots of an Empire.

It is by default determined by the most common type of Districts or Buildings constructed but can be chosen manually at any point. Capitals have their own unique designation which cannot be changed. Ascension tiers are not lost if the designation is changed.

Planets including habitats and ringworlds can be ascended using unity, which increases the effects of the planet's designation and reduces empire size from that planet from the colony, districts, and pops. Secondary modifiers such as bonuses to resource gathering designations from the Greater Good line of resolutions are not increased. The maximum planetary ascension tier depends on the number of unlocked ascension perk slots, with the first tier being unlocked by the third ascension perk slot. Each additional ascension perk unlocked allows an additional planetary ascension tier.
