The Southport Australian Football Club was established in As a result of our on-field success, we were promoted to the QAFL in , and became the Southport Sharks due to another team of the same name. Our triumph continued in the QAFL as we again won the Premiership in our first year in the competition. After the pandemic once again cut the season short, we finished second on the ladder in our first year and were Runners Up in , in an exciting Grand Final played in Melbourne.

From humble beginnings at Owen Park in to becoming a community leader in sport, leisure and entertainment today, we take pride in entertaining our members. Whilst we have grown in stature, we remain ingrained within the local community and proud to be a key stakeholder in the Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct , with health, fitness and education a priority to Southport Sharks. When a spirited Australian rules football team of 22 players takes to the field, they are supported by around one thousand individuals — including team members, junior players and administration personnel — who proudly wear the Sharks colours. There is the stunning Aviary Rooftop Bar , and light-filled meeting spaces ideal for meetings, secretariats and break-out rooms for conferences.
