A few years ago, I invested in a set of Audio Engine A5s paired with an AirPort Express for wireless in an effort to fill our entire house with some of the best audio I could buy. This leads me to this Fall, when I began researching all that Sonos has to offer. Their wireless stability and ability to sync together have always been attractive, but I was reluctant to leave the spectacular sound quality of my A5s behind. The Sonos PLAY:5 is a compact stereo speaker that claims to play your favorite music wirelessly from dozens of available sources. All it requires from you is a wall outlet, a WiFi or ethernet connection, and a companion app on your smart phone or computer.

This stylish, minimalistic design works very well in pretty much any room. As I stated, the second generation Sonos PLAY:5 is packed full of speakers including: three tweeters, three mid-woofers with six Class-D digital amplifiers perfectly tuned to match the six dedicated speaker drivers and the acoustic architecture.
