I'm new to this forum, but lurked for a few months before posting anything. Context I'm in the process of soundproofing a room and researching my soundproofing options. My goal is to limit footfall noise from above, and voices airborne sound. So far, I've read through articles by Ted White, numerous posts by BigMouth in this forum, and articles from the soundproofing company and so forth. From what I gather, the 4 basic principles of soundproofing are key mass, decoupling, absorption, damping. Along with Flanking noise. I'm leaning towards building the ceiling assembly from The Soundproofing company can't post the URL because i'm under 5 posts.

If you have lots of time and wish to experiment with different techniques and unknown materials, please do so! Many people have made the errors mentioned here and some have been kind enough to pass them on to us for inclusion. Please feel free to contribute! There are many experts doing work in this field. Most provinces require them to be licensed. At least read everything on our website, including the other blogs we have written or even the product data sheets we have listed on each product page. We are more than happy to help you- so give us a call! Both sound absorption solutions and soundproofing solutions have benefits but they achieve a different result.

It definitely made the room quieter but I have not tried any low frequency testing. Pressure Treated. And unfortunately I suspect the isolation clips are not in the budget. WilliamR Replies. With so many different types of soundproofing materials, some of them get overlooked. There are obvious options for people to choose from, but SONOpan is picking up steam as a great competitor!
Interior Doors. Another thing I might try if I have enough Sonopan left is to try and make a few sound clouds and hang them from the ceiling.
