It looks like a significant upgrade over the cable and pulley system on mine which only last a couple of years then the pulleys seize up and the cable rusts and breaks, and yes even stainless cable doesn't last over 2 years. I bought all my parts from an on line marine supplier so it is all marine grade SS pullies and cable and haven't had any issues since then. That was several years ago.
