Smolder is a female dragon , Garble 's younger sister, and one of the Young Six [1] [2] [3] who first appears in season eight of the show as a student at Twilight Sparkle 's School of Friendship. In the season eight premiere School Daze - Part 1 and Part 2 , Smolder enrolls in Twilight Sparkle 's School of Friendship as a student, having been brought to Ponyville by Ember to represent the dragons. In this episode, the Young Six respond to a magical summons from the Tree of Harmony , only to learn it has been destroyed , and it is up to them to figure out the best way to memorialize it. When they explain that they were summoned by the Tree of Harmony, Twilight and Spike inform them that the Tree—as well as the Elements of Harmony —were destroyed by King Sombra.
