In-Game Description. The Shade summoned with a Small White Sign Soapstone will have a normal time limit of 12 and a half minutes in the world. This time limit will be reduced as more enemies are killed, regardless of whether they're killed by the host or the shade. The shade will show a faded aura at 11 and a half minutes, assuming nothing has been killed. A Shade cannot gain more than 7, souls from killing a boss. Members of the Heirs of the Sun won't get a Sunlight Medal as their reward.

The White Sign Soapstone allows Unkindled to assist one another. Some advice for hosts: If you're summoning a player you are usually better off not summoning any available NPCs along with them. For the most part the NPCs do very little damage but do count as phantoms and buff the boss's health, their damage is usually not worth that extra health. Summoning another player does increase the boss's health as well but a human is usually able to do enough damage that it isn't as big of a deal. It's your world and I put my sign down offering to help so I'll give it my best shot but against a boss like the Dragon Armor for example it's a very tough fight with the two NPCs there doing almost nothing.
