I'm sure you have come across this question many times, but I'll go out of my way to ask it anyways. What would you choose? Faendal or Sven? I personally choose Sven, not only is he the best singer of all NPC's, but if you get the letter from Faendal, tell Camilla the truth and kill Faendal, you can find a letter on his corpse mocking Camilla. She even sends you a letter thanking you after you kill him. Faendal is better for gameplay purposes, though. Bosmer stick together. I actually kill Faendal to get his blood for a quest usually xD. I side with Sven and use him in the Boethia quest. Faendal is the better follower for sure, Sven is useless. How shocking that he responds to home invasion violently. I skip this one because they both annoy me, and their object of affection seems to be a bit of a smart-mouthed bint. Of course if I were stuck in that tiny town for potentially decades, I'd probably end up a smart-mouthed bint as well, especially running a store with her brother.
Dracoustics 10 years ago 6 I've only ever took him adventuring once, it was an early level and he was pretty decent all kitted out with elven armour lol, skyrim faendal.
There are several points in Skyrim where a decision must be made that will have an impact on the future, with one of the earliest involving the feud between Sven and Faendal of Riverwood. The two men have developed an immature rivalry regarding their mutual affection for Camilla Valerius, and the Dragonborn must step in and resolve things. Siding with Sven or Faendal will turn the NPC into a potential follower, so some thought must be put into the decision. However, despite both men seeming similar at first glance, the majority of players likely agree that Faendal is far and away the superior option, even though Sven is probably one of the first people they encountered. The advantages of each option are not especially even, but once they are weighed against each other, Faendal is easily the winner. Unlocking a good follower in Skyrim can prove vital, given players can spend much of their journey on their own without help, and Faendal is a great option to have shortly after players leave Helgen.

When you visit the small town of Riverwood, the local beauty, Camilla Valerius, has sparked the interest of two bachelors in town. The local bard, Sven, and the wood elf hunter Faendal, are both vying for Camilla's favor; and will resort to slander and libel to win it. If you approach Sven first, at the Sleeping Giant Inn , you find out about his love for Camilla, and about his suspicions about Faendal's involvement in her life. Sven will then ask you for a favor: deliver a fake letter supposedly written by Faendal to Camilla, seemingly breaking things off with her due to her being an Imperial, and he a true-born elf. Or you may speak to Faendal first. He can be found near the lumber mill chopping wood or wandering the village. Faendal also has feelings for Camilla and a desire to see Sven out of the picture. He asks you to deliver his own fake letter designed to disrupt Sven's wooing by outlining out the household chores he has planned for Camilla. With either letter, you can go straight to Camilla, or show the supposed letter to the other man prompting them to hand over their own forged letter for you to deliver.

Unless there is a follower who turns into a werewolf. Yielding to a guard or fast traveling to a different hold can generally fix this.
