I have made this photo tutorial so people who have purchased my Dachshund Sewing Pattern can SEE how to sewing pattern dashdog a dachshund toy! Turn the EARS right sides out and pin them closed at the straight edge. TIP: I use a chopstick to push the seams out nicely.
Print out the templates. Cut two bodies, two bellies and two ears with one of each reversed and a head gusset from your Flora fat quarter. Cut two ears with one of each reversed from green fabric. Note that the templates include a 6mm seam allowance. Pin the plain and floral ears together in pairs with right sides facing. Machine stitch around the curved edges, leaving the top unstitched.

Duchy is my little dachshund softie. As things often turn out, however, what you plan and what you end up doing, are often quite different. Back in April my daughter Shira, got married. She decided she wanted to go to the ceremony in one of those little black London cabs which we are lucky enough to have in Sydney…perhaps something to do with our British convict background. Anyway, I was chatting to the owner, James, who happened to mention his love of dachshunds and that he was a volunteer with Dachshund Rescue Australia. He had lots of cute pictures on his website. Now he is very excited and proud to be the very first softie, the very first cab off the rank, as they say, for Sew a Softie in July this year.

Today I am here to show you how to sew this adorable stuffed dachshund dog. This particular design is an original Andrea Chapman freehand sketch that I created for my eldest daughter Ashley. The dog was a gift to her durning a difficult heartbreak and continues to serve as a reminder that time does heal all things. I am confident the same compassion will be infused in your project and together we can lift up many hearts! Simply click on the image to proceed. If you are a fan of patchwork, but you are looking to…. Clip into the seam allowance at the curves, then turn through. Machine stitch around the curved edges, leaving the top unstitched. Pin the head gusset to one body, between points A and B, with right sides facing. Cut two ears with one of each reversed from green fabric. STEP 17a 1. With right sides facing, pin the two bellies together around the legs, from C to D. Stuff the nose area then the head and neck really well. I agree with the terms of use. STEP 17b 2.

Print out the templates. Sew the front seams from K — H on both sides. You can see the safety pin the in the middle photo above. Zig-zag acros the seam like you did with the EARS.
