A Rube Goldberg Machine is a contraption that is made with one simple task in mind, however in order to complete that task, the creator makes a complex route in order to do that task, even if it is completely unnecessary. I have been tasked with creating a Rube Goldberg machine in Unity and in order to get ideas of what to do, There are some images of what I could do with my Machine. I could use a domino-type effect where multiple objects fall over each other in order to travel a distance in the machine and when the final domino piece falls over, it triggers another effect which carries on the machine. I could use this in my Unity design by having something which is attached to a track and then drops items on to something in order to carry on the chain. Ideas from this Rube Goldberg machine I could include are having a static prop contain multiple physics enabled props and have that static prop drop the others and have one of those physic props continue the chain while having a mess of other props. Another idea from this machine is using a prop to continue its momentum and just touch another prop and carry on the rest of the machine. This machine gives me ideas for my machine by having the ball hitting a button and then that button performing a task printing a piece of paper which would allow for the Rube Goldberg machine to be continued over a further distance as you could have the ball hitting the button in a place far from the actual task that the button commences. This GIF could be used for influence in my Unity Rube Goldberg machine as I could use the idea of having something being shot at a target and then activating something that requires the pressure of being shot to activate and carry on the machine until then end.
