Melee vest was useful when I completed the entire game with a knife. Might wanna upgrade Shevas SMG capacity to possibly free up some inventory space as well. When you learn to get the hell out of the way, ditch it.

One of only two passive items in the game, all that is required in order to use it is that it be in your inventory.
