I believe strongly in moving kids to a multi-skill approach to reading comprehension as soon as possible. However, in the fall my third graders often lack basic comprehension skills. I love the easy to use book based skill and strategy lessons and use them in the fall and then over the course of the year as needed to reinforce, review and practice.
