The chaos was palpable as every Superstar in the ring battled for the opportunity to compete inside the Elimination Chamber, with Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler teaming up to eliminate several Superstars.

Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre tore the house down at the top of Monday's show, kicking things off with a banger of a match. Back-and-forth action defined the bout, with neither man gaining a sustained advantage for most of it. The two men traded signature moves, strikes and countered each other's finishers, refusing to let the other deliver the knockout blow that decided the outcome. Instead, it would be the interfering Jimmy Uso who distracted the official and allowed Solo Sikoa to flatten Rhodes with the Samoan Spike, setting the men's Royal Rumble winner up for the Claymore as McIntyre scored the win. The finish was right out of WrestleMania 39, where Sikoa came from the crowd shrouded in black and delivered the Samoan Spike to cost Rhodes the match against Roman Reigns. It was a nice callback that served as a bit of mind games from The Bloodline to the man who ruined its main event plans for this year's show. McIntyre appeared conflicted as he watched The Bloodline interfere on his behalf, remembering that his bitterness traces back to their involvement in his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship loss to Reigns at Clash at the Castle in September Great action and advanced stories helped elevate the opening to the show. Great stuff from all involved and, most importantly, it made sense within the context of all that we already know. The sixth and final participant in the women's Elimination Chamber match was determined Monday night as Raquel Rodriguez returned and cashed her ticket to Australia with a Battle Royal victory. Rodriguez overcame the united front of Baszler and Stark, dumping them consecutively to earn her win. The Battle Royal was fun, with a handful of different stories either advanced or explored within its run time. The false finish at the end, with Green popping out from under the ring only to see her sneak attack on Rodriguez fail miserably as she was tossed to the floor, was a lot of fun, too.

Shayna Baszler vs. Chelsea Green snuck into the ring, having not been eliminated earlier, to try and steal the win but was tossed by Rodriguez. Raw results German suplex, a moonsault of his own and an ankle lock earned the Olympian the victory, raw results.

As WWE continues to build toward WrestleMania 40, the promotion appeared to use Raw on Monday night to plant the final seeds for one of the year's biggest matches. As Jey Uso was on the verge of ending Gunther's record-breaking run as intercontinental champion in the show's main event, Jimmy Uso intervened to cost his twin brother the title. Jimmy's interference came as Jey seemingly had the title won. Jimmy then added insult to injury by continuing to assault his brother after the match ended. This will almost certainly lead to the Usos facing off in singles action at WrestleMania, which takes place on April 6 and 7 from Philadelphia. Intercontinental Championship -- Gunther c def. Jey Uso via pinfall to retain the title after reversing an Uso Splash into a pin.

With the Royal Rumble more than a month away, WWE used Monday night's edition of Raw to deliver solid wrestling and continue building toward the Day One edition of Raw to kick off the new year. The show featured a trio of title matches, including one title change. Intercontinental Championship -- Gunther c def. The Miz via pinfall to retain the title. After a lengthy back-and-forth contest, Gunther finally got the win after hitting a powerbomb, ripcord lariat and a second powerbomb to extend his record-breaking run with the title. Gunther would confront his Imperium underlings later in the night, saying he was taking a few weeks off and he expected them to get things together and finally start getting the job done in his absence.

Jinder Mahal came out to confront him. The chaos was palpable as every Superstar in the ring battled for the opportunity to compete inside the Elimination Chamber, with Zoey Stark and Shayna Baszler teaming up to eliminate several Superstars. The match itself was fantastic, the best of Jey's singles run to date. The babyface seamlessly transitioned from a pinfall into an ankle lock in a great example of his fluidity as a competitor. We saw kendo sticks, chairs, tables and red mist used throughout. Gunther was seemingly down for the count after an Uso Splash, but Jimmy Uso suddenly appeared at ringside and began ringing the bell, allowing Gunther to capitalize on the distraction and retain his title to continue his historic reign. This was interesting creative in that Jax looks like an unstoppable force, but it came at the expense of six women who should have been protected as they compete to determine the No. Truth on his first meeting with The Judgment Day: "It was special, like the first time John Cena tried on jean shorts. They teamed up to take on Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode. Becky Lynch hit the ring for the go-home promo segment ahead of Saturday's women's Elimination Chamber match. The Best in the World was once thought to be unlikely to ever step foot in a WWE ring again, but as the saying goes, never say never in professional wrestling. Saturday's pay-per-view also featured the babyface teams picking up wins in both WarGames matches, Rhea Ripley and Gunther retaining their respective championships, and Santos Escobar scoring a win over Dragon Lee.

The main event saw Uso ready to end Gunther's record-setting reign as champion after hitting an Uso Splash late in the match. The timekeeper took the mist from Nakamura directly into his face.
